Over the past few months, we have been announcing the 2022 League MVP and Pitcher of the Year awards for each Division. This is the final entry for our 2022 Award Winners. Congratulations to you all on an incredible 2022 season. The league is proud to announce Efrain Gomez, Jr of the San Jose Marlins as the Division I Most Valuable Player of the Year.

When describing Gomez' season, it's hard to decide where to begin. Can he hit? Well yes, he hit .396 on the season across 61 plate appearances. How about power? No problem - Gomez had 10 extra base hits - including 2 home runs and a league best 4 triples. His speed? A division leading 19 stolen bases. Counting stats? How about 25 runs and 15 RBIs in 25 games attended. Defense? Gomez performed as the league's best from his customary right field position. Furthermore, he would help solidify himself as a top defensive catcher for the 17 win San Jose Marlins - supplying premium defense and showcasing his elite arm from behind the plate.

Gomez would dial it up an extra notch in the post season- producing a line of .458/.500/.583 - good for a 1.083 playoff OPS. His 8 stolen bases in 6 post season games would help his Marlins advance all the way to the league championship series. Congratulations, Efrain Gomez Jr, on an excellent season and for being named Division I's Most Valuable Player of the Year.
