Our 2024 Fall Ball season kicked off this past Saturday and with it, comes the love of baseball that takes no time off. Here’s what you need to know about the season: 

 

A Fiesty Fall Ball

As of this fall, we are officially the 6th largest adult baseball league in the entire country! This fall is set to be an exciting one, with a total of 20 teams competing across three divisions.

 

Here’s what to expect:

• Division Breakdown: 6 teams in Division 1, 6 in Division 2, and 8 in Division 3.
• Season Format: Teams will play an 8-game season.
• Playoffs: The top 4 seeds from each division will advance to the playoffs, which will be held in a double-header format on December 14th. In the event of a rainout, games will be moved to December 21st. Should there be 3 or more rainouts during the season, teams will receive a refund.

 

 

 

SJ NABA Cares: Giving Back to the Community

In early 2024, we launched NABA Cares, an initiative aimed at supporting the community and fostering a love for baseball among underprivileged youth. We’ve seen great success in offering baseball lessons and equipment to young athletes who need it the most.

 

Additionally, our first community events were well-received, bringing together players, families, and fans in support of local causes. We believe it is crucial for the league to give back, and we invite all players and supporters to join us in making a difference.

Addressing Mental Health in SJNABA

The past 18 months have been difficult for our community, as we’ve lost four beloved players to suicide and overdose. These individuals were more than just teammates; they were friends and integral members of SJNABA. To honor their memory and address the growing need for mental health support, we are taking action.

 

Starting January 1st, 2025, SJNABA will offer mental health services for all players and coaches, thanks to a partnership with a local therapy provider. Weekly, hour-long counseling sessions will be available to anyone in the league who seeks support, with complete anonymity assured. This initiative underscores our commitment to ensuring the well-being of our community members and reinforcing the message that every person in SJNABA matters.

 

More details on how to access these services will be shared in January. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to look out for each other and keep the spirit of camaraderie alive.
