2008: ??????
The Silicon Valley Black Sox are born. Armed with the first pick of the draft, the Black Sox, under the guidence of Manager Bob "The Basher" Brasher, selected Kyle McDonald and Cameron Sandusky. McDonald and Sandusky would become conerstones for the franchise for years to come. Being new to the league, the expansion Black Sox still had a decent season with promise of better years to come.
2009: 13W-6L-2T 1st Place Wins Vacated from Black Sox Scandal
This year saw a revamping for the Black Sox. The team added a ton of talent which ended up giving the Black Sox the best record in the league...but that was when the infamous "Black Sox Scandal of 2009" struck. After sweeping a double header against the heavily favored Red Sox to clinch first place, the Black Sox had established themselves as the best team in the league and the team to beat heading into the playoffs. Then someone (probably a sore loser, someone who claimed to be a pitcher but got out-dueled by a first baseman in the front end of a double-header) informed Commissioner Webb that the Black Sox had been playing this season with an ineligable player!!!!!! This player, he who shall not be named, logged a grand total of 9 whole Junior College at-bats. This meant the Black Sox had 3 college players instead of 2...making them cheaters of the WORST kind. The Black Sox became the disgrace of the SVABL. Commissioner Webb with all his power removed all victories from the Black Sox and did not let them compete in the playoffs, a chance for a championship was lost. Ironically, the San Jose Giants, who won the championship, also had an illeligable player. This player had pitched in AA just two years before he pitched for the Giants, strictly against league rules. AA Pitcher > 9 at-bat JC Scrub. This fact was found out too late by Black Sox lawyers.
2010: 11W-10L 4th Place 1W-1L Post Season
This year was a fresh start for the franchise. To distance themsleves from the Black Sox Scandal, the franchise changed their name to the White Sox and got new, expensive, custom and straight out of Chula Vista jerseys. They also hired new manager Perry Gorden to take over the team. With another influx of talent the White Sox were ready to take the championship that was taken from them the year before. Even though their star pitcher tore his throwing shoulder's labrum, the White Sox still felt confident they could compete. The White Sox finished a game above .500 and won their first playoff game in a barn burner affair. After being down 3-0 after 4 innings against the Brewers. The White Sox tacked on 4 in the top of the 5th to take the lead. The White Sox would tack on another 3 runs in the top of the 6th to make the game 7-3. The Brewers responded with a 9 run burst in the bottom of the 6th to take a 12-7 lead. The White Sox would not go down quietly and scored 2 in the top of the 7th to make it a 12-9 game. That was the score heading into the top of the 9th. With their backs against the wall, the White Sox put up one of their most prolific innings in franchise history. They pounded out 12 runs in the top of the 9th to take a commanding 21-12. The deflated Brewers went quietly in the bottom of the 9th to seal the first playoff win in White Sox franchise history. The White Sox ended the game with 21 runs, 20 hits and 6 errors...a pretty awesome adult league linescore. The next playoff game against the Pirates did not go as well for the White Sox. Being down most of the game, the White Sox tied the game heading into the bottom of the 9th. This is when one of the more questionable decisions in franchise history was made. A player was put in the game to pitch in the 8th who did not normally pitch becasue the game seemed over for the White Sox. After the game was tied, this player was allowed to stay in the game even though the White Sox had a few healthy arms ready to go. The Pirates scored and ended the White Sox season.
2011: 6W-11L ??? Place 0W-1L Post Season
This year was a very disappointing one for the White Sox. The team could not find any groove like they had done in the past. A key reason why the team struggled so much was the lack of consistant players. There would be a core of 5-7 players that would show up to every game and the rest of the team would be rounded out by half-time players. This really hindered the White Sox from having a consistant lineup. After stuggling throughout the entire season, the White Sox finished 6-11 and went one-and-done in the playoffs against the Broncos.
2012: 4W-13L Last Place 0W-2L Post Season
This season was even more disappointing than the 2012 campaign for the White Sox. This was also a very awkward season in many ways for the team. First off the main problem from 2012 persisted this year, lack of consistant players. After strugging to a 4-12 season, son controversy came to light. On the last game of the season, the White Sox catcher decided that he was going to get himself ejected from the game, therefore making him suspended for the playoff game. In the week leading up to the playoff game, the White Sox were informed of some financial issues that came out of left field. After getting that straightened out, the White Sox had to turn their attention to a playoff game against the best team in the league. When that Sunday rolled around the White Sox had only 8 players. With the go-ahead from the opposing team, the Dynasty, the White Sox had their suspended player show up and play. Commissioner Webb was not too pleased when he found out later what the White Sox had done but no one cared. The White Sox got slaughtered 19-3 in a 5 inning route. The Whte Sox did have a 3-0 lead after hitting in the top of the first.
2013: 14W-3L-1T 2nd Place 3W-0L Post Season Valley Division Champions
The franchise needed to go in a new direction. The first thing that needed to be changed was the leadership. After "mutually" parting way with their old manager, the franchise then hired Casey Juull to run the show. Juull's first course of action was to change the look of the team and then the Campbell Royals where born. The Royals decided to start fresh with their new team in the lower Valley Division. Gaining a couple more core players, the Royals had a fantastic season. They finished 14-3-1 and tied for first place in the Valley Division. After the tie-breakers the Royals ended up in 2nd place. The Royals did not stop there, they finished a perfect 3-0 (all 2 run games) in the post season. Defeating the Sharks (15-13), Orioles (8-6) and Diamondbacks (5-3) to wrap up the Valley Division title.
2014: 7W-10L-1T 6th Place 2W-1L Post Season Lost in Championship Game
After having a strong 2013 campaign, the Royals decided to jump back up into the higher Silicon Division. This would be the first year the Silicon Division would use wood bats. The Royals had a rocky start to the season going 0-5. After that, the Royals finished with a 7-5 record. The Royals got really hot once playoffs started. After winning their first game 15-4 against a short-handed A's team, the Royals were slated to take on the heavy favorite, #1 seed Dynasty. Unlike the regular season, the Royals only hit their 9 best hitters in the post season. This was a huge key to their success in the post season. The Royals stunned the Dynasty 4-2 in a game that could have been changed many times by just one swing of the bat. Next up for the Royals were the Angels. The Angels, with their ace on the hill, defeated the Royals 6-1. With that the magical post season run for the Royals was over.
