Benjamin Simon joined the Santa Clara Cardinals in Summer 2025 and immediately made a name for himself as one of the most complete players in franchise history. A polished hitter with advanced plate discipline and elite bat-to-ball skills, Simon quickly emerged as a middle-of-the-order force and a steady presence on the defensive side of the ball.
Known for his high baseball IQ and quiet confidence, Simon’s combination of gap power, contact consistency, and leadership behind the plate made him a standout rookie. His ability to adapt—splitting time between catcher, third base, and the mound—speaks to his versatility and value to the Cardinals’ roster.
Through his first 19 career games, Simon has posted a .462 batting average, .541 on-base percentage, and 1.118 OPS, while driving in 11 runs and collecting 6 doubles. His offensive performance places him among the top hitters in team history by both average and OPS.
On the mound, Simon has also contributed as a reliever, tossing 7 innings with a 1.57 WHIP, 6 strikeouts, and 1 save. Defensively, he’s logged over 100 innings across multiple positions—most notably 50+ innings behind the plate, where he’s shown reliable hands and strong communication with the pitching staff.
Simon carried over his momentum into the Fall 2025 season, where he continued to produce offensively, batting .375 (3-for-8) with a .500 OBP and driving in 3 runs. His leadership at third base and steady presence in the lineup have helped anchor the team through the early part of the season.
Simon’s rookie campaign with the Cardinals was one of the most dominant in franchise history. Over 16 games, he hit .477 with a .549 OBP, .614 SLG, and 1.163 OPS, driving in 8 runs and leading the team in nearly every major offensive category.
He earned All-Star honors for his outstanding two-way performance and was recognized league-wide for his advanced approach at the plate and defensive versatility. Behind the dish, Simon threw out 100% of attempted base stealers (1-for-1) and posted a .965 fielding percentage while also logging innings at third base and shortstop.
